Watershed moment as HTL Property announce Qld’s largest Freehold Going Concern sale of CY24

In ringing the bell at the end of the calendar year, leading national specialist brokers, HTL Property, have announced a flurry of sales across multiple states; including Queensland’s largest sale.

Settling earlier this week, The Lucky Tree Tavern in Brisbane’s Southeast has the enviable title of the largest individual sale of a Freehold Going Concern pub asset in 2024; with fellow stablemate, The Willow Hotel, not too far behind.

The sale of both assets, by way of an “off market” sale process, were managed by HTL Property Directors, Glenn Price, Dan Dragicevich and Managing Partner Andrew Jolliffe.

Announced as the successful purchaser, MA Redcape Hotel Group (Redcape) have now snapped up three hotels in as many weeks in Queensland; after The Commercial Hotel in Redbank was also announced as being purchased by the group earlier this week. The trio of assets add to Redcape’s already established portfolio across multiple states.

The Lucky Tree Tavern & Willow Hotel were sold in one line by publicans, Brendan Lawless & Peter Braithwaite.

The Lucky Tree Tavern at Durack is situated on a sizeable 2.14hectares of land, offering the incoming purchaser significant potential for redevelopment; whilst both venues acquired by Redcape are considered as being very good prospects for capital expenditure levers.
