Press Release

Laundy and Flower Consortium Expand North Coast Investments

Following a busy week for the leading national agency, HTL Property today confirms the sale of the large format Tacking Point Tavern in Port Macquarie.

“Having sold assets in Sydney, Brisbane and Alice Springs already this week, we are delighted to confirm another significant sale on behalf of our valued clients” advised HTL Property National Director, Dan Dragicevich.

Following the sale of the Taphouse Group’s Port Macquarie Hotel last week, the highly regarded Laundy family has again teamed up with local identity and multi-pub owner Alistair Flower of Flower Hotels to buy the 6700sqm hotel adjacent the busy Lighthouse Plaza Shopping Centre.

“We recently acquired the Mercure Hotel in Port Macquarie with Alistair, and look forward to furthering our family’s relationship with him via this next exciting purchase” advised patriarch, Arthur Laundy AO.

“We will continue to look at opportunities both in capital cities and in regional centres in order to grow our family business, and to leverage the experience and scale we’ve built over three generations” Laundy added.

“I’ve admired the successful way in which the Mattick family and their partners have conducted various successful businesses over the years, and they have been an absolute pleasure to deal with regarding this transaction” Laundy concluded.

“The Tacking Point Tavern ticks all the investment fundamental boxes that astute large format hoteliers gravitate towards – efficient tavern style reconfiguration, 270 degree onsite parking and strategically located adjacent a retail precinct within an exclusive neighbourhood trading catchment” added Dragicevich.

The sale of the Tacking Point Tavern by HTL Property brings the firm’s total volume of NSW sales this calendar year to date to in excess of $800m.

“We’re passionate about creating and protecting wealth for our valued clients, and as evidenced by our recent national market activity, the asset class remains positively underwritten by robust and attractive fundamentals” concluded HTL Property Managing Director, Andrew Jolliffe.

HTL would not confirm the successful price paid for the Tacking Point Tavern, other than to confirm the agency’s market guidance was again achieved.

End.
