HTL Property Sells Another as the Tumbridge Family Departs the Railway Hotel in Windsor After 27 Years

Following the market disclosure last week regarding the successful sale of The Australasia Hotel in Eden, The Railway Hotel in Sydney’s North-West growth corridor has been transacted upon by HTL Property in what represents the first Metropolitan Sydney pub sale for 2025.

The sale was negotiated by agents Blake Edwards and Sam Handy of HTL Property, in conjunction with Peter Chidgey and on behalf of long-time owners the Tumbridge family who have owned and operated the hotel for 27 years.

“The sale of the hotel is somewhat bittersweet for both Colin and I. We’ve reconciled with ourselves that it’s time to move on, but these four walls hold so many happy memories and moments for our family” suggested owner Trenna Tumbridge.

“Nonetheless, we’re really looking forward to having a break, spending some time with the family and working through what’s next for us” Tumbridge added.

HTL Property has been particularly active within the Hawkesbury LGA having negotiated notable transactions such as the Vineyard Hotel ($68M), Royal Hotel ($18M), Richmond Inn Hotel ($16M) and Bligh Tavern Park Tavern ($12M) in recent years.

“There have been twenty pub transactions within the Hawkesbury LGA over the last decade, and the agents comprised within HTL Property have negotiated eighteen of these deals; providing us with an unrivalled market share of around 90%” advised HTL Property Director, Sam Handy.

“During this time, we have collectively negotiated in excess of $165 million in pub asset sales across these eighteen transactions within the Hawkesbury LGA” Handy added.

HTL Property currently has the nearby Tates Hotel in Windsor available for acquisition, and are working with several interested parties in an off-market capacity.
