Press Release

Boutique Sydney Hotel Sold by HTL Property

Following the recent sale of UKO Paddington, leading national brokerage agency HTL Property is pleased to confirm the sale of sister boutique accommodation asset, UME Potts Point.

The 42 room six-level stately hotel prominently situated on Elizabeth Bay Rd in the fashionable Sydney suburb of Potts Point, enjoys sweeping views of Sydney Harbour from the stunning recreational rooftop level. Publicly marketed for sale by HTL Property agents in conjunction with Ray White Commercial (SC), the unique commercial holding attracted exceptionally strong interest with 104 enquiries and multiple offers to purchase.

The successful purchaser is the highly regarded Carpe Diem Partners, which adds the accommodation asset to its growing portfolio of high quality offerings now accounting for over 500 keys nationally.

“Carpe Diem have invested in various leisure and corporate accommodation assets in major regional areas across three states for our wholesale investors. The addition of this Elizabeth Bay property gains our first exposure to the prime Sydney market and branches us into the co-living space” said Simon Wheatley, founding partners of Carpe Diem Partners.

“We’re delighted by the strong outcome our strategic marketing campaign garnered for our valued client, and confident the Carpe Diem Partners team will enjoy sustained success in such a prosperous location” advised HTL Property National Accommodation Director, Andrew Jackson.

The sale of the UME Potts Point Hotel follows HTL Property’s recent sales of other upscale accommodation properties in the form of UKO Paddington, Motel Molly (Mollymook) and Sky Suites (Sydney CBD).

“An amalgam of downward pressure on interest rates, comparatively stable geopolitics regionally, a modest Australian dollar value and the Federal Government’s concerted focus on growing in-bound tourism; has seen a deliberate uptick in both investor confidence and appetite for high replacement cost tourism assets” concluded HTL Property’s Managing Director, Andrew Jolliffe.
