HTL is very pleased to announce the sale of the Criterion Hotel in Hunter Valley suburb of Weston; the 8th NSW pub sale announcement in 2023 by the specialist firm.
HTL Director Blake Edwards worked on this transaction with colleague Xavier Plunkett on behalf of highly valued HTL client, the Kelly Hotel Group.
The Purchaser is Central Coast based publican Adam Drabarek, who also owns the Imperial Hotel in Coonabarabran and Howlong Hotel in the Riverina town of Howlong.
“Part of the appeal of this venue is its proximity to my home in the Central Coast, which suits my plan to be a hands on operator of this venue” commented successful Purchaser, Adam Drabarek.
“We think Kelly Hotels Group has done a great job with the venue, and we think we can continue to grow the venue through our hands on style of management and community engagement into the future” Drabarek added.
“We want to thank Kelly Hotel’s for their cooperation and professionalism with the handover process, and look forward to getting stuck into running this venue” Drabarek concluded.
The stately venue operates a bar, bistro, 10 accommodation rooms, a gaming room with 15 machines, a 3am liquor licence with total average weekly revenues in excess of $50k. Situated in the broader Newcastle orbit, Weston is about 10 minutes from Cessnock, 20 minutes to Maitland and 20 minutes from the outer suburbs of Newcastle.
“Two years of frenetic transaction activity and continuing strong trading conditions are resulting in an acute lack of on market pubs for sale” advised HTL Property Director, Blake Edwards.
“We are expecting this clearly active transactional marketplace to continue well into 2023” Edwards concluded.
The sale of the Weston Hotel by HTL Property closely follows the leading agency’s record regional sale of the Robin Hood Hotel in the fast growing NSW city of Orange.
